Who are Jenn and Raz Iacob?

We are a Canadian/Romanian couple ministering in Bucharest, Romania. Jennifer has been there since January 2000, and Raz was born and raised there. Married in March 2010, we have two children, Jason (born December 2011), and Asher (born July 2013).

​Why Romania?

Often people ask me why we chose to minister in Romania. The truth is, Romania is a very difficult country to live and have ministry in, but this is where God has directed us to be! We love Romania and the Romanian people, and our heart is that each person we meet will be eternally impacted by the truth of God’s love.

Almost half of Romanians are at risk of poverty or social exclusion and the majority of the Roma (Gypsy) population in Romania is caught in this cycle.  The World Bank has stated that the Roma are "poorer than other groups, more likely to fall into poverty, and more likely to remain poor" (Ringold et al. 2005).

Lack of education, resources and support are some of the issues affecting this people group. As a result, there is an ongoing struggle within the community with abuse, drug and alcohol use, begging, pick pocketing and theft, as well as other petty and major crimes, including human trafficking.
